During the course of her professional experience with over 30 years in Accounting and Finance, Rachel Carlsen has worked in highly diversified and entrepreneurial environments. She considers herself to be a true numbers person with an outside-of-the-box perspective. Her work experience in the Bay Area not only taught her that things are not always as they appear, but to work within your passion and to be truly the best that you can be, no matter what. The experience that she received was not only unique in nature but also taught her to think differently, more strategically and in general to think smarter. This has not only proven useful in her career but has also created a key advantage in working with clients and other associates.
Rachel Carlsen has always been fascinated with numbers and enterprise, and by the time she arrived in college, she began developing a wide breadth of complementary skill sets. After working in different types of customer service positions throughout banking, she started to develop an understanding of Finance and Customer Service from a financial perspective. Then Rachel Carlsen relocated to the San Francisco Bay Area where she began her training and ascension in the field of Public Accountancy, and worked tirelessly in order to earn her CPA License. As she furthered her career in Accounting, she developed a vision for the Firm of the Future, from a Client-Led Perspective, changing the way that Accounting Services would be delivered; where she could see Financial Services and the approach to Client Services rapidly changing to a full-service approach or rather, to a different approach.
In 2011, she passed the Series 7 and Series 66 exams for Financial Services at Morgan Stanley and later went on to pass the Insurance Exam as well. This allowed Rachel Carlsen to develop her unique niche and multi-faceted understanding within the Financial Services sector, with a splash of accounting edge and perspective, which would prove to be quite beneficial and powerful for her clientele.
With this unique perspective and insight, from a CPA point-of-view, in 2015 she went on to form her own Public Accounting Firm, based in Los Angeles, California, named; Carlsen Financial, and quickly became a leader in Accounting and Tax Strategy. Rachel Carlsen continued to be a leader in Tax Services and Preparation, with 300% year-over-year revenue growth.
As President and Founder of Create Impact, in 2022, a California based tax-exempt 501(c)3 Organization, Rachel Carlsen has a vision to give back by promoting social awareness and giving entrepreneurs the ability to learn from each other and to be in-service as Social Impact Partners. Socially Conscious Entrepreneurs have the opportunity to not only give back but to also educate fellow entrepreneurs on their mission statement and vision that led to their entrepreneurial path.
